Creation Reference: Flower

Visible Verse: Psalm 103:15-17

The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children—

Visible Verse: Luke 12:27-31

“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Creation Reference: Pleasing aroma or fragrance

Visible Verse: 2Corinthians 2:14-15

But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

Science: Many of the world's roughly 260,000 species of flowering plants are dependant on pollinators to survive. A pollinator is any insect, bird or animal that carries pollen from one flower to another to accomplish fertilization and the production of seed. Most

Application: Just as flowers send out a beautiful fragrance that attracts butterflies, our lives should send out a sweet fragrance that attracts and encourages others to follow Christ. What fragrance do people smell when they see our lives in the community, at work, at home or in the church? Do we leave behind the sweet fragrance of Christ wherever we go? The aroma of Christ is left behind in many ways: an offer of forgiveness, selfl ess assistance to a neighbor, or lovingly embracing a grieving family member. Although the fragrance of Christ comes in many forms, its source is singular: a heart totally surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. May you be encouraged to live surrendered to Christ with every flower you smell!

Visible Verse: James 1:9-11

Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.
